10 Minute Blog #9: Launch of Creative Commons Compatibility Wizards

June 26th, 2011 by Naomi Korn

The OER IPR Support Team (Web2Rights Ltd, JISC Legal and CC UK) are delighted to announce the launch of new openly licensed tools to help JISC/HEA OER funded projects and others experimenting with CC-licensed content, to understand which CC licensed resources can be blended with other CC licensed resources.

The compatibility of different CC licensed resources when blended together, can be complex and the tools we have developed do 2 things:

1. If you know which CC licence you want to issue your OER under, the tool provides an indication of which CC licensed resources might be blended together which are compatible with your selected CC licence

2. If you want to blend CC licensed resources together, the tool indicates which are compatible with which ones, and provides a choice of CC licences that you might choose from in order to issue your blended resource

The wizards are available hereĀ  http://bit.ly/jd7WWF

We look forward to hearing how you get on and hope that our tools are useful
